The RequirementsTo be a strong fit for the National Account Representative role you will have:
- A Bachelor’s degree.
- 5 years of outside selling B2B experience and/or sales support & account management experience calling on Fortune 1000 and/or Global Customers.
- Experience selling multi-functional products and experience in the Managed Print Services area are preferred. Candidates with a background in IT could also be a great fit.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A fundamental understanding of technology; including hardware and software.
- Proficiency with CRM systems and the Microsoft Office suite of products (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
- A self-starter mentality and drive for success.
- Proven relationship building skills.
- Very strong attention to detail.
- A professional and confident demeanor.
- Flexibility and open to collaboration and working with others.
- The ability to work autonomously from a home office.
The geographic area of coverage includes Canon’s Global Services Division customers in CA, UT, NV, WA, OR, MT, HI, ID AK, and AZ. The majority of your time will be spent in Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Our preference is that you are based in San Francisco or Southern California (Los Angeles, San Diego, Orange County). You can expect to travel overnight up to 75% of the time.
The RoleReporting directly to the Sr. Manager, Sales, for the Global Services Sales Division of the Business Imaging Solutions Group (BISG), as National Account Representative, you will be responsible for selling and supporting Canon’s systems and services to end user customers in the Western Region.
You will collaborate with Canon’s Global Account Executives to expand and grow our business with both existing and target accounts. This is more of a “farmer” position where you will provide sales support and work to build strong relationships with your defined list of Canon National Accounts. You’ll work with companies with office locations and facilities in your assigned geography to solve problems, write orders and proposals, and act as a liaison and primary interface between the customer and the Account Executive.
You’ll also conduct site assessments to determine where Canon equipment should be placed and assist with any customer service issues by resolving the problem or directing the issue to the correct resources and specialists.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Supporting Global Account Customers by generating proposals and writing orders for Canon hardware and software solutions.
- Assisting customers in the resolution of issues to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
- Working strategically with Canon’s Global team and provide assistance in the execution of each accounts strategic business plan.
- Developing relationships with Canon’s key business partners/dealers in each major market.
- Maintaining all pertinent account information and track all sales activity by utilizing Salesforce.com.
- Conducting Quarterly Review meetings with assigned accounts.

Keys to SuccessTo excel in this role it will be essential that you have the interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate and build rapport with a variety of internal and external contacts. Because you’ll be supporting our team of Global AEs, you’ll need to work to understand their goals, objectives and priorities and then execute against those various initiatives set forth by the AEs. You'll need to be able to navigate through different personality types as you keep your eye on end goals and strategies. In fact, your ability to create strong professional relationships with your AEs will be directly tied to your success in this role.
Additionally, to truly thrive in this role you will be comfortable wearing “multiple hats” as you take responsibility of various facets of each of your assigned accounts. We’re looking for a professional who is self-motivated, proactive, flexible and ready to hit the ground running.
