Why Canon USA

Professional development with top tier team -- the ITCG Sales Analytics team has earned the respect of people throughout Canon; leaders from groups outside ITCG have come to us for our expertise. That means not only that you'll share ideas and insights with strong professionals, but you also will have opportunities to work on intriguing projects. In the process you will gain experience with in-demand technologies like Python and ASP.NET. We also offer a variety of professional development tools and resources.

High visibility -- your reports will go to senior leaders, and you will have the chance to present directly to executives, including those from customer organizations. The team sits next to the offices of two Vice Presidents, and it's not uncommon for them to stop by and ask for this or that. The Analytics team is growing and we may take on more and more projects from other Canon groups. Growth will create opportunities for proven performers.

Great environment -- the Analytics team focuses on results and we take a collaborative approach. Throughout Canon U.S.A. we value a strong work ethic, but we also support your efforts to balance work with other commitments. Our beautiful new headquarters, located on a 52-acre campus, earned LEED® Gold certification as a high-performance green building. The site also features a state-of-the-art learning center, gym, cafeteria (try the sushi -- one benefit of being part of a Japanese company!), two parking garages, walking trails outside, and more.

Commitment to the environment and community -- Canon has undertaken several initiatives to reduce the environmental impact of our operations and our products. In addition, Canon U.S.A. believes strongly that we have a responsibility to contribute to the welfare of the communities we serve. Keys to Success

If you're looking for a position in which you can turn out the same "cookie cutter" reports every day, this is not the role for you. To excel in this role you will be enthusiastic about working with numbers, identifying trends, and digging in to find the stories and insights within the data. The analyses and reports you generate will need to present value-adding information that suggests a course of action for decision-makers. In reports and presentations you will be succinct and present the data in a way that is easy for non-technical people to understand and use.

You also should bring a strong desire to learn and grow. In addition to learning the technologies already described here, the team is constantly exploring new tools and technologies that we all learn together. When presented with an assignment, you should be resourceful and motivated to find both the data and the techniques you'll need. You should be able to take a general and sometimes ambiguous concept from a requestor and figure out how to deliver the right information and format without going back repeatedly to the requestor to ask for more clarity.

Communication and interpersonal skills will be important as you interact with a variety of contacts to get the data you need and share the insights you gain. Once you have become familiar with our products, operations and objectives, you'll be in a position to help identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiencies.
